Life's Littlest Handbooks - Experiment 7
Howdy friends!
We're at it again - Introducing Experiment 7 at Experimart - Life's Littlest Handbooks
We got really excited to start making the world's smallest instructional books about all the things in life we might need to know how to do or....DO know how to do and NEED to share with others. From the prosaic, to the practical, to the profound!
At the beginning of this journey we we're planning to design them all in house and tell you how to land an airplane in 6 easy steps or tie a bowline knot or how to yo a yo-yo or find your latitude using the sun...
That is to say all the little tricks we've be amassing over the course of a lifetime of collecting little illustrated instructional resources ranging from comic books to science journals. Which will one day be a hoot when we make them all and I bet you'll think so too.
But then as these things seem to do - the universe suggested an even better plan.
And now more than anything, we wonder what YOU might know how to do and / or would tell the world about. Which is infinitely more interesting to us than to tell folks what we already know how to do. And after all Experimart is really a reflection of the experiments we do together - so this is how it has to be!
Thus we plan to be the semi official repository and publisher for the world's most interesting 6 panel tiny guide books about life...ever!
How can you participate????
It's great fun!
Each tiny book has the same format: a title page and 6 tiny pages arranged as a simple accordion booklet! We print them in one color at the shop and distribute them via our Token Gallery vending machine. Currently out of one of 5 machines (ask us how to get a token machine in your location!)
Our first guide we created as luck would have it - is a guide on how to make a L.L.H.B!
It's actually a neat exercise to think about an idea and to work out how to unfold it for someone else. That old saw about teaching someone else to do something is usually more instructive for the teacher than the student is true.
WE DEFINITELY THINK YOU SHOULD TRY THIS EXPERIMENT OUT!
No need to stress about it - everyone has some special knowledge about something and something you like to think about and maybe even talk about.
Lots of folks are going to think - "Oh yeah sure but i can't draw...."
NO DRAWING SKILLS NECESSARY! ONLY SOME THINKING SKILLS AND AN IDEA.
This guide can be words only or pictures or stick figures - whatever way you can get your point across and that we can reprint in 1 color of ink.
Oh yes - that's the other part of this - if you share your guide with us - we'll add it into the mix and print some of them for distribution at Experimart locations.
